The classifier overflow passes by gravity to a Super-Agitator and Conditioner prior to “Sub-A” Flotation. Scheelite, a calcium tungstate, is non-magnetic. Magnetic separation may also be employed to concentrate Wolframite or other magnetic tungsten minerals, such as Ferberite and Huebnerite. In some cases the treatment of the jig concentrate may not require additional grinding but can be subjected to roasting followed by magnetic separation to remove pyrite. For simplicity, retreatment of the jig concentrate is not shown, but this includes regrinding with the possibility of amalgamation, flotation, and cyanidation to produce gold in either concentrate or bullion form and a high grade Scheelite concentrate. This jig is selective in its action and is particularly suited for the recovery of fine mineral as well as coarser particles in a high grade product. The free sulphides, gold and tungsten, are removed in the grinding circuit by means of the Mineral Jig. The rod mill is of the special grate-discharge type which is extensively used for tungsten and many non-metallic ores where overgrinding is a serious factor. The crushed ore from the fine ore bin is ground in a Rod Mill to free the minerals with as little sliming as possible. A possibility not used in this flowsheet but sometimes advisable, is to remove the approximate minus 10 mesh fraction from the crushed ore and treat this product on a Mineral Jig prior to grinding. The vibrating screen undersize passes to a fine ore bin for storage prior to grinding. This arrangement requires one less conveyor belt than old- style crushing flowsheets. Note the ingenious features of this crushing circuit whereby the jaw crusher and cone crusher products are conveyed to the vibrating screen on common belt conveyor. The screen oversize is crushed in a secondary cone crusher and the crushed product returned to the vibrating screen.Ĭrushing Rolls (with large diameter shells) could be employed in place of the cone crusher and in some cases, would probably be preferable. Primary crushing is accomplished by the Forced Feed jaw Crusher which discharges to a conveyor and then to a Vibrating Screen. The crushing section is designed to remove the undersize between each crushing step and thus prevent excessive production of fines. THE Tungsten Rich Wolframite Ore FLOWSHEET Tungsten Rock Crushing Circuit There are numerous possibilities that could be applicable to this problem, but the described flowsheet offered the greatest degree of flexibility. Consequently, it is evident that other concentration processes must be incorporated in the flowsheet to produce separate marketable concentrates of tungsten and gold. Straight gravity concentration of this ore, using the flowsheet shown, would result in a mixed gold-tungsten concentrate containing much sulphide which is not desirable for marketing. This fact was kept in mind for the study shown here, but the problem was complicated due to the occurrence of iron sulphides and free gold with Scheelite. ![]() This is necessary because of the friable nature of all tungsten minerals. The first consideration of any tungsten ore is to recover the mineral as coarse as possible and avoid sliming and overgrinding by stage crushing and grinding. The flowsheet study previously shown for tungsten was devised for a simple tungsten ore free of other heavy minerals. The flowsheet study shown here was recently developed for treatment of a very complex tungsten-gold ore. The present great demand for tungsten due to world conditions has resulted in an increase of tungsten ore dressing problems for our metallurgists. If it sounds rubbish in your headphones, move on and try something else. As DJs, we need to call this one – if it doesn’t work in your headphones, don’t inflict it upon your audiences. Silly, I know, but it proves the point: We all intrinsically know what sounds right – and what doesn’t. I encourage you to listen as far as the chorus, for the full horror of this: It is Toto’s “Africa”, with both of those things – timing and key – deliberately one note/one beat out. Maybe you shouldn’t worry so much. There is no such thing as 100% agreement because humans can’t even agree with each other.” “Mixed In Key and human = 75% agreement, Human and human = 75% agreement. If you give the same song to Mixed In Key and a musician, they will agree with each other 75% of the time too. “If you give the same song to two human musicians, they will agree with each other 75% of the time. So first, let’s hear from Yakov, the maker of Mixed in Key: And what should you do if you use one of the “lesser performing” DJ apps?.If even the best of the best (Mixed In Key, 76.5%) guesses one in four tracks “wrong”, should you be relying on key detection apps/algorithms at all?.And kudos to Hercules’ DJ software, DJUCED, firmly in the number two spot!Įngine Prime (62.5%), Serato DJ Pro (60.6%) and Algoriddim’s djay Pro (61.6%) are a bit behind the leaders, with Virtual DJ (42.7%) at the back of the pack. So you can see that according to this research, the best key detection here is with Mixed In Key (76.5%), but that of the big DJ software platforms, Traktor (73.8%) and Rekordbox (69.2%) are not so far behind. (You can dive deeper if you like on the original Reddit thread.) I won’t go into his methodologies, but trust me – he has been thorough. This graph was done in 2020 by Reddit contributor bascurtiz, who we’ve known here at Digital DJ Tips for a long time, and to whom we credit this research fully. ![]() So first let’s look at the “best” key detection software options we have today. So the big question for DJs is: Should you use Mixed In Key, the “industry standard”? Or should you just rely on the key detection built in to your DJ software? Or something else? So… which software is best? And there are other alternatives, free and paid for, either standalone or part of other music-related apps. Move forward to today, though, and nearly all DJ software has key sync built-in. This information could then be “seen” by DJ software, enabling DJs to mix in key. But luckily there was a piece of software called Mixed In Key, a standalone key detection app, to add this information to MP3s. (I remember doing so with a piano keyboard and some rudimentary chord knowledge, gained from my training as a guitarist.) The arrival of key detection softwareĮven as recently as a few years ago, DJ software didn’t even have key detection built into it. DJs wanting to mix in key “back in the day” had to do this, too. Trained musicians can quickly figure out the key of a piece of music – some can even do so without resorting to an instrument. The combination of being able to know the key of a song, “lock” that key even when changing tempo, and even have your software suggest potential matching tracks, has been a game-changer for DJs in recent years.īut just as when your software guesses your tracks’ BPMs wrong, no amount of hitting the “beat sync” button is going to save your mix, if the key detection is incorrect, you’ll have a similar problem too. But which key detection is best right now That’s what we’ll find out in this article. Mixing in key – making sure your tracks are compatible harmonically when you DJ – is one of the big areas of DJing that has been made easier by digital DJing. ![]() I’m assuming that there will be a certain level I reach that will be the magic time to go back and collect what I’m assuming is epic loot, but I’m not to that point yet and I getting near level 20.
